Central Glass Co., Ltd. announces that we have entered into an agreement with Foosung Co., Ltd. (Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province, Republic of Korea; “Foosung”), a South Korean chemical manufacturer engaged in the production and sale of specialty gases for semiconductors, to establish a joint venture for the production and sale of specialty gases for semiconductors. The joint venture is scheduled to be established in March 2025.
To meet the growing demand for localization of semiconductor supply chains, especially for manufacturing, we have decided to establish a new manufacturing joint venture in South Korea, one of the world’s leading semiconductor-producing countries, in order to build a rapid and stable supply system for specialty semiconductor gases to customers in South Korea.
Central Glass aims to contribute to the further growth of South Korea’s semiconductor industry through the synergy created by combining our development capabilities and advanced manufacturing technologies for specialty semiconductor gases with Foosung’s fluorine raw materials, cost competitiveness, and strong market presence.
We will continue to address social challenges and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through advancing our semiconductor materials business.
