Features of Cover Gas
Since magnesium alloy is lighter than iron and aluminum, the market is expected to grow in terms of energy conservation and environmental compatibility. On the other hand, magnesium is an active metal that reacts explosively with oxygen in the air in its molten state. SF6, which has a high global warming potential (GWP), is used to prevent combustion, and the development of a low-GWP gas is in demand.
ZEM-SCREEN® (HFO-1234ze(E)), a cover gas developed by our company, has an low GWP and performance comparable to SF6, which will greatly contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
